The Board
The Constitution establishes our Board of Directors, who are responsible for the overall governance of CIMMO and its affairs. The Board is accountable to CIMMO members for the operation of CIMMO and achieving the established goals, mission and vision.

Dr. Paul Griffin has long-standing experience with nonprofit governance he is a member of the Insurance Institute of Canada's Ethics Advisory Board and also as Chair of the Education Committee and Board of Directors for the Canadian Institute of Financial Planners (CIFPs). He also serves as Chair of the Board of Regents of the Retirement Planning Institute. Although now the Associate Dean of The Business School at Humber College, in his previous role as a Professor, Paul taught finance, risk management (insurance), accounting, marketing, and securities. Prior to joining Humber, he was a National Director at ING Canada (now Intact Insurance). In addition, Paul runs a successful consulting business and also continues to write for practitioner-targeted publications.

Dr.Youssef is very passionate about marketing and is an international entrepreneur with a strategic focus, business vision, and mature professional judgment acquired during a successful business career as founder and CEO and CMO of high-tech companies in Canada and Brazil. His executive experience includes top strategic marketing management responsibilities, competitive intelligence, market, and product analysis, market strategy, International business administration, and operations. Dr. Youssef is the co-founder and vice-chair of the Federation of Canadian Brazilian Businesses.

Nikki is President of the award-winning Marketing and PR agency Lamb Creative Group, a photographer, speaker, and youth mentor. She recently launched Black Sheep Academy, an online business that offers resources to help creative executives transition from the 9-5 grind to designing a life and business they love. Over the past 15 years, Nikki has worked with brands that include Fisherman's Friend, Smithsonian Channel, Global TV, E!, Showcase, Hunt's, Cottage Life, Travel+Escape, Tilda Legendary Rice and Yves Veggie Cuisine. Through her work in the entertainment industry, she has had the opportunity to work with A- list celebrities, Rock Stars, Celebrity Chefs, Authors, Royalty, Politicians, Astronauts, On-Air Personalities and Sports Stars. She's conducted press tours from a helicopter over the Grand Canyon, executed a PR campaign that saw a Guinness Book World Record for longest-TV viewing, and danced an A-list actor all the way to the red carpet to make his photo call.

Nicholas has been in the advertising and design industry for 30 years, having served on both the agency and chheng sides. He's worked in varied sectors- B2B & B2C-including healthcare, technology, retail, non-profit, education, government, broadcast & entertainment and real estate development, leading high-profile accounts, including Loblaws, Apple, HP, Canon, Sony, Toshiba, Lexmark, Microsoft, Pusateri's, TVO, Ontario Nurses' Association, Tuxedo Junction and York Region Tourism, among others. Currently, he's a principal consultant with Ferrand Communications, Inc. As creative director, he has proudly led his teams to win numerous local and international awards for design, advertising, and branding. He has served on boards in education, sport, and real estate. Starting July 2019, he will serve a two-year term as a member of the Senate of Ryerson University. As well, he's been invited to be a panelist and judge for various design competitions, industry panel and roundtable discussions, and post- secondary student portfolio evaluations. Nicholas is a marketing graduate of Ryerson University; and a Communication Arts graduate of Seneca College. Sylvia Sweeney, C.M., is a Canadian Olympian Legend and experienced executive television producer. In 2017, Sylvia was appointed a Member of the Order of Canada "for her long-standing commitment to and creative leadership at the nexus of art and sport through her documentaries and world-stage productions. As an athlete, Sylvia Sweeney was on the Canadian basketball team at Montréal in 1976, finishing sixth. Eight years later, in Los Angeles 1984, she was a team member that finished just off the podium, losing to China 63-57 in the bronze medal game, finishing fourth. Becoming known as "Canada's First Lady of Basketball." Sylvia Sweeney joined the national team in 1974 and spent a decade as a key member, including serving as captain from 1979 to 1984. She was voted the Most Valuable Player at the 1979 World Championships in Seoul, won a bronze medal at the 1979 Pan American Games, was the Canadian team flag bearer, and was a member of the bronze medal-winning team at the 1979 World Student Games in Mexico. Sweeney was a local organizing committee member for the 1994 Men's World Championships in Toronto, director of the Toronto Raptors in the National Basketball Association, and served as the assistant chef de mission for the Canadian team at Atlanta 1996. Annually, Canadian Interuniversity Sport and TSN present the "Sylvia Sweeney Award" to a Canadian women's university basketball player who best exemplifies the values of athletics, academics and community involvement. Sportsnet produced a profile about Sweeney for its Black History Month series. Sweeney was inducted into the Canadian Basketball Hall of Fame in 1994, the Canadian Olympic Hall of Fame in 1996 and the Québec Merite Sportif Hall of Fame in 2000.

The last 25 years of his career was spent with Xerox Emirates in positions of increasing responsibility, culminating with his appointment in 2009 as Group Chief Executive Officer of Mohamed Hareb Al Otaiba Group, a holding company with 3,000 employees which includes Xerox UAE, Avis UAE, Bosch Home Appliances and Ricoh Systems - a position he held until his retirement in December 2016. Among his numerous achievements included the establishment of the Business Solutions Group for Xerox leading the Sales Operation Excellence implementation, which is considered 'the benchmark' by Xerox International Group. Midia Shik Hassan is the 2021 Schwarzman Scholar award recipient and the recipient of the 2018 Queen's Young Leaders Award Winner. Midia was also the 2019 CBC Trailblazer Award Winner and Facebook Social Entrepreneurship Award winner.
